Japan, 1960s. Misuzu, a high school student with a chaotic family life, finds a sactuary with her brother Ryo and his nihilistic friends. They spend their days hanging around bars and indulging in drugs and casual sex. Among them is the ambitious Kishi, who wants more and even devises a plan to rob a bank van, which results in the legendary 300 million yen affair in 1968. Based on an allegedly autobiographical novel by Japanese writer Misuzu Nakahara, the film portrays a visualized elegy of life and love on the edge.
